Deviating from simple yet effective films to a commercial entertainer, the knowledgeable Venkat Bharadwaj has delivered a fairly convincing mass entertainer with Rakky. Of course, he has taken the liberty in storytelling and set aside the logic of cinema, as his aim this time is to cater to the mass audience. Venkat Bharadwaj, a soft-spoken software professional who travelled to over 70 countries before entering cinema, had earlier concentrated on content-oriented films. With the commercial screenplay of Rakky, he has proved that he can be a strong contender in commercial cinema as a director.

Rakky (Rakky Suresh) is a tall, handsome rowdy working under Danny (B. Suresha), a key underworld operator. Rakky carries out assignments on his boss’s instructions, but Danny’s daughter Siri (Pallavi) is madly in love with him. Although Rakky initially rejects her love, he later accepts it. Siri wants Rakky to come out of his nefarious activities. However, a big deal that Danny undertakes to eliminate an MLA ticket aspirant leads to various developments.

Rakky, along with Ganesh (Sampath), travels 130 kilometers to accomplish the task. A few startling revelations at this stage give new hope for the climax. There is Chandini (Ashika) and a politician. At this point, a flashback unfolds, describing the past of Rakky and Chandini.

Whether the deal is completed by Rakky and Ganesh, what happens to his present and past love, and how Rakky settles down in life—for all these answers, you have to watch the film Rakky.

A new actor is born for the Kannada film industry—Rakky Suresh. He is good in action and dance. He is a great fan of Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar. In his debut, Rakky Suresh is convincing. In the flashback portions of the second half, he looks like top Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda. However, Rakky Suresh has to improve in dialogue delivery.

Both the female leads, Pallavi and Ashika, have emoted well. They look good too and have a bright future in the tinsel town.

Veteran actor B. Suresha, Sampath Maithreya and Bala Rajwadi have done neat work. Harini Shreekanth, in the role of a mother, has a different dimension, and she has delivered it well.

On the musical front, the film is very good. Loki Tavasya has composed two melodious songs—”Vibe Agide…” and “Neenu Nanagantha Bareda Bhagavantha.” The introduction song, the rowdy song and the family song, “Hate You Daddy, Hate You Mummy…”, are worth hearing.

In the 122-minute narration, cinematographer Issac Prabhakar has provided a very pleasant visual experience. Action director Tiger Shivu has showcased a few good action sequences.

On the dialogue front, the film deserved to be better. “Saraswathi andre Talent, Lakshmi andre Entertainment…” is a dialogue that gets noticed.
