Flamboyant maker R. Chandru, the director of several successful films including “Taj Mahal,” “Charminar,” “Mailari,” and the pan-India film “Kabzaa,” is directing “Original Monster” after a gap of two and a half years.
Presented by Anand Pandit, produced by Yamuna Chandru under the banner of RC Studios, and being made in both Hindi and Kannada, the film “Original Monster,” starring Karunada Chakravarthy Shivarajkumar in the lead role, had its grand muhurat ceremony at Modi Maidan in Kengeri. Geetha Shivarajkumar, NICE organisation’s Ashok Kheny, Madhav Kiran, DCP Anitha, Industrialist Madhav Kiran, producers Uday K. Mehta, Gangadhar and several other dignitaries were present at the muhurat ceremony.
Recently, the title launch ceremony of our “Original Monster” was held grandly in Mumbai. However, ever since I entered the film industry, it has been my wish to conduct the muhurat ceremony of our film in the presence of the media here, who have always encouraged me, and then commence the shooting. The shooting of this film has begun from today. I am happy to be directing Shivarajkumar in this film after the super-hit “Mailari” and “Kabzaa.” I will always have his support. Renowned Telugu actor Sunil is also playing a prominent role in this film. The film is being made in Hindi and Kannada and will be released as a grand pan-India film. Popular actors from across India will be part of the cast. I will share more information about them in the coming days. A huge set has also been erected at the HMT Grounds in Bengaluru, and the first schedule of shooting will take place there, said director and producer R. Chandru.
I will not accept a film if I do not like the story. I liked the story of this film narrated by R. Chandru. After “Mailari” and “Kabzaa,” I am acting in this film under Chandru’s direction. “Original Monster,” “Monster” means a giant. As one of the senior journalists said there is ‘Original Man Kind’ in the subject. After Jogi I have seen so much of emotional depth in the subject. But that giant is not just about being a monster; there is another line to it. That can be seen in this film. Also, Chandru directs emotional elements very well. The emotional aspect will also be highlighted in this film. Overall, this is a role that I have never done before. My dialogues will be in Kannada mixed with Telugu. I am happy to be acting alongside Sunil. The film has cinematography by A. J. and music by Ajaneesh Loknath. The film is being made in Hindi and Kannada. In the coming days, I will also do “Mailari 2” with R. Chandru, said lead actor Shivarajkumar. This is said to be the 133th film of Karunada Chakravarthy Dr Shivarajakumar.
I have watched Shivarajkumar’s “Om” many times. I am happy to be acting alongside him in this film. As Shivanna said, the emotional aspect of this film will be liked by everyone. It is universal indeed. R. Chandru has created a good story, said actor Sunil.
