The 250th film of renowned Kannada supporting actor Sundar Raj, ‘Charge Sheet 03-08’ teaser was unveiled on Monday evening in a crowded gathering at SRV Theater. Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce President Dr Jayamala, action Prince Dhruva Sarja, attended the ‘Charge Sheet 03-08’ teaser launch event as special guests.

“After watching the song from this film, I immediately felt like watching the movie. I know Uncle (Sundar Raj)’s body language. He never takes anything for granted. If one wants to survive in this industry, there is only one way — talent. It is because of that talent that Uncle’s film journey has now reached 250 films. When you watch his acting, especially in close-up shots, you feel ‘wow’. I will definitely watch this movie with my family. A film is made with a vision, and it is very important to do justice to that vision. If you ask me my favorite film of Uncle’s, it is ‘Udbhava’. His performance alongside Anant Nag was extraordinary. Everyone worked in Bangarada Jinke. My grandfather and aunt Pramila Joshai were part of it. He has done so many movies. Lots of love, we love you.”
Continuing further, he said, “On this stage, Uncle must make us a promise. You should give me an opportunity in your film too. Even if it is a small role, I will do it. If my brother were here, he would tease me a lot. You and my brother had planned something together, right? Let us take that forward.”

Speaking on the occasion, Sundar Raj said, My heart is full. It feels like I have had a full meal. In my entire career, I have never seen a press meet like this. Cinema is a dream. Everyone likes to become a hero. We had a very good business. We used to do business worth ₹5,000–₹6,000 a day. But my passion was theatre, where there was no money. When I was in 8th or 9th standard, I wanted to become a doctor. Instead, I became an actor. This ‘Charge Sheet 03-08’ thrilled me. A soldier protects the nation. A police officer protects the state. This film is based on an incident that happened in JP Nagar.

I remember Rajkumar. Until 1970, he had not seen ₹5,000. He never took crores of rupees, but he earned the love of crores of people. I never asked about this film’s budget. I simply said, ‘Make it.’ On this occasion, I remember my gurus. Kannada films should not be pirated. Piracy becomes a Xerox copy. Watch the original. We have reached the international level. Whatever subject we take up, we must give it due importance. There is no such thing as a small role in cinema. I have acted as a villain, supporting actor, hero, and in Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi films. But our own land is the most beautiful for us.”

Speaking about the director Venkat Bharadwaj, he said, “He told me that he was my fan. He has an IT background and later said he wanted to make films. I had a desire to act under his direction, and I fulfilled that desire.”
He further added, “We must support producers. If a producer makes one film, he may go on to make ten more. Kannada cinema should regain its past glory. I have waited long for this role, and finally I got the opportunity to play it.”

Senior producer Rockline Venkatesh, actress and Sundar Raj’s daughter Meghana Raj were also present at the press conference.

The film has received a ‘U/A’ certificate and is directed by Venkat Bharadwaj. Produced under the Arjun Films banner, the film is jointly produced by Dinesh and Lakshman. Based on the original story by senior police officer S. K. Umesh, the screenplay and dialogues have also been written by Venkat.

The film stars Sundar Raj, Harsh Arjun, Sathyashree, Amar, Roopesh, Dr. Pramod, Dr. Sudhakar Shetty, and others. Sameer Kulkarni has handled the music and background score, while Pramod Bharatiya is the cinematographer.
