The first song, ‘Chalisitu Moda’, from the Kannada film ‘Miss Match’ was unveiled on the occasion of Vijayadashami. Composed by Judah Sandy, with lyrics by Nagarjun Sharma and vocals by Srilakshmi Belmannu, the romantic melody is available on the Tejas Publications YouTube channel. The company also holds the music rights to the film’s complete album.
From Poetry to Music – Tejas Venkatesh founded Tejas Publications in 2012 after completing his engineering degree, beginning with his first Kannada poetry collection, Bhavodvegagala Pratibimba. After working in artificial intelligence (AI) technology for over a decade, he took a break from the field to enter the film industry as a producer with ‘Miss Match’. He has now expanded the venture by launching his own music label.
Tejas said the idea of releasing the album under their own label came after listening to Judah Sandy’s compositions. He hopes the label will provide a platform for young artists, singers and lyricists to showcase their talent.
Talented Artists Come Together – Srilakshmi Belmannu, known for Hindustani classical music and playback singing, gained popularity with ‘Kadalanu’ from Sapta Sagaradaache Ello. Lyricist Nagarjun Sharma has penned popular songs such as ‘Hands Up’ and ‘Narayana Narayana’ from Avane Srimannarayana, and ‘Nigooda’ from Kavaludaari.
‘Miss Match’ Set in Malenadu – Directed by Sai Srinidhi, ‘Miss Match’ is a family romantic comedy set against the backdrop of Malenadu. Kaushik Gowda and Ashwitha Hegde play the lead roles, while Tejesh, Amrutha, Aniruddh Acharya, Nagendra Shah and Lakshmi Siddaiah appear in supporting roles.
