Actor Prem is set to take on a historical character in his upcoming project, marking a new phase in his career. Known for his performances in films such as Nenapirali, Jothe Jotheyali, Pallakki, Charminar, and Male, he has built his career through a series of “feel-good” films and is now preparing for a different genre.

The new film is being produced under the same banner that backed the 2023 film Jalapata, which focused on environmental concerns. The upcoming project will also include elements related to environmental awareness but will differ by incorporating a historical backdrop and a mass-oriented narrative style.

The story connects historical and contemporary timelines and is based on a novel by Janagere Venkataramaiah.

On the occasion of Prem’s birthday, the film team released a poster featuring his character. The poster presents him in a mass look with an intense expression, holding a signet ring and a sword. His hairstyle, including strands of hair flowing across his forehead, along with a tripundra mark and a beard, contributes to the overall appearance shown in the poster.

The film is written and directed by Ramesh Begar, a theatre artist from Sringeri associated with Yakshagana, television, folk, and film mediums.

Filming of Prem’s portions has been completed. According to the director, the project aims to address the limited number of historical films in Kannada cinema. Further details, including the title, are expected to be announced through a teaser.

The first look poster released on Prem’s birthday indicates that preparations for the film are currently underway.
