Creating an engaging trailer that grabs the audience’s attention has become an important aspect of Kannada cinema today. One such neatly cut and engaging trailer for the Kannada film Jolly was released by noted producer Umapathy Srinivasa Gowda at a well-attended event on Monday afternoon.
Jolly is all set to hit theatres across Karnataka on July 31.
Speaking at the trailer launch, producer Umapathy Srinivasa Gowda said that the producer who invests in a film should be given due respect and importance. He pointed out that around 400 films are made every year and said filmmaking should not be treated as a mere hobby. Instead, clarity, commitment, and responsibility should be at the core of every film project, he felt.
Director and lead actor Tarush, speaking at the event, said that the entertainment industry is facing several challenges in today’s world. Mobile phones, OTT platforms, Instagram, Bigg Boss, and other forms of entertainment are available at people’s fingertips, creating stiff competition for theatrical releases and making it increasingly challenging to bring audiences to theatres.
Speaking about Jolly, Tarush said that the film is based on the increasing number of divorce cases in society. According to him, the film offers a positive solution and a meaningful message for people facing such situations. He described Jolly as a complete entertainer that also explores the emotional bond between a father and daughter.
Tarush also said that the film is being presented as a tribute to Appu, Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar.
Tarush, who comes from a strong theatre background, has spent 12 years working in theatre and short films before making his entry into the film industry. For Jolly, he has also contributed as a lyricist and editor.
Nitin Raj has composed music for the film, which features six songs. Renowned lyricists Yogaraj Bhat and Kinnal Raj have penned songs for the movie.
Veteran artistes such as Rekha Das, Shobharaj, and others are also part of the cast.
With its engaging concept and screenplay, Jolly is expected to appeal to audiences. The team has also sought the audience’s support for the film, which they believe will encourage filmmakers to come forward with more progressive and meaningful stories.
