The legal challenges surrounding the Kannada film Boss, scheduled for release across Karnataka on June 19, have intensified with a fresh appeal being filed before the Karnataka High Court.
Actor Darshan Srinivas and Vijayalakshmi Darshan have filed an appeal petition, MFA No. 4257/2026, seeking a stay on the release of the film.
Earlier, a city civil court had vacated an interim stay order that had restrained the film’s release, thereby allowing the makers to proceed with their plans. Following the court’s decision, the film team announced that Boss would be released across the state on June 19.
However, challenging the civil court’s order, the appellants have now approached the High Court and sought an immediate interim stay on the film’s release. It is learnt that the petition raises serious objections regarding the film’s storyline, portrayal of characters, and other disputed aspects.
With the release date approaching, the case has gained significance, drawing attention from the film industry and audiences. The focus is now on the High Court’s decision and whether it will grant an interim stay or allow the film to be released as scheduled.
The future of Boss, which is slated for release on June 19, now depends on the Karnataka High Court’s ruling.
