PRIYANKA UPENDRA HEADS TO BOLLYWOOD WITH THE FILM “SEPTEMBER 21”

22-year-old Kannadati Karen Kshiti Suvarna is currently directing a Bollywood film titled “September 21.” The film revolves around the story of an Alzheimer’s patient from Bengaluru and the nurse who takes care of him. In this multi-starrer, Kannada actress Priyanka Upendra will be seen playing the role of the caretaker. Bollywood actors Praveen Singh Sisodia, Zarina Wahab, and Amit Behl will also be playing key roles.

In “September 21,” Priyanka Upendra portrays the character of Kamala, a caretaker. Praveen Singh Sisodia plays Rajkumar, a 60-year-old man suffering from depression and memory loss. As Raj’s condition deteriorates, Kamala becomes his lifeline, providing both emotional support and physical care. The film highlights the challenges and struggles faced by a woman who gives up everything to take care of a patient and work toward his recovery. Priyanka Upendra takes on this powerful role.

The film has been written by Malayalam writer Nellooli P. Rajashekharan. Music is composed by Kannada musician Vinay Chandra, and cinematography is by Anil Kumar K. The cast also includes Bollywood actor Praveen Singh Sisodia, actor Amit Behl, Bollywood actress Ayesha Aimen, Nellooli P. Rajashekharan, and Ricky Rudra. Sachin Patekar, nephew of Nana Patekar, also plays a role in the film.

As for the director, though “September 21” is Karen Kshiti Suvarna’s first feature film, she is no stranger to the world of cinema. She had earlier directed a short film titled “Hide and Seek,” which gained global recognition and won awards at multiple film festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival.

“September 21” is being jointly produced by Belgium-based production house “Fox on Stage Belgium,” along with “Visika Films” and “Films Max.” Amit Awasthi, Vice President of Marketing at Reliance Entertainment, and Frederic De Vos of “Fox on Stage” are producing the film.

Currently in the shooting phase, the film is expected to be submitted to international film festivals for awards once completed, and will later be released on a pan-India scale.
