DWARAKISH WISHES SON YOGI TO TAKE UP

The unforgettable ‘Maha Kulla’ of Kannada filmdom, Dwarakish’s body, was consigned to flames at the TR Mill crematorium on Sri Ramanavami Day with full state honors. Dwarakish’s sons conducted the final rites according to tradition. Eldest son Santosh lit the fire to Dwarakish’s body amidst chanting hymns.

On Wednesday afternoon, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid his last respects to the departed soul of Dwarakish and recalled his journey with him in a helicopter. “He comes from our place near Mysuru. We traveled in the helicopter and discussed various topics, including cinema,” recalled Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. “He is an achiever. He never felt depressed from failures and went on to make wonderful films. He has many firsts to his credit,” disclosed the Chief Minister.

In Dwarakish’s last days, he was at Yogish’s residence, where the fond son remembered his father telling him to produce 25 films under the banner of Dwarakish Chitra. “I feel the vacuum at the residence, and the era of ‘Appa’ has ended,” stated Yogish at Ravindra Kalakshetra premises, where Dwarakish was kept for final darshan.

Kannada superstars Dr. Shivrajakumar, Dr. V. Ravichandran, Darshan, Yash, Ramesh Aravind, Upendra, and stalwart actors and contemporaries of Dwarakish, Srinivasamurthy JK, Ramesh Bhat, Honnavalli Krishna, Girija Lokesh, and the talented Shruthi, who got a big break in her career from Shruthi Kannada cinema of Dwarakish Chitra, Munirathna Naidu, Rockline Venkatesh, and various others paid their last respects to Dwarakish.

Dwarakish donated his two eyes, and Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah appreciated the initiative.
