YASH’S TOXIC SPARKS BOX OFFICE FRENZY AS ADVANCE BOOKINGS OPEN WORLDWIDE

The wait is almost over, and the excitement surrounding Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has reached fever pitch. Advance bookings for the highly anticipated action thriller opened across India on Friday, and early trends suggest that the film is heading towards a spectacular theatrical debut.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is targeting a massive worldwide release across more than 12,000 screens, making it one of the widest theatrical releases attempted by an Indian film. The film is scheduled to hit cinemas globally on August 26.

And the booking response has wasted no time making headlines.

Within hours of bookings opening, Toxic reportedly crossed the one-lakh ticket mark, while Karnataka alone was approaching the ₹5-crore gross range in advance sales. In Bengaluru, demand has been particularly explosive, with reports suggesting the film was selling more than 25,000 tickets per hour at one stage.

The frenzy isn’t restricted to Karnataka. The film has already built strong anticipation across India, while its international pre-sales have also delivered encouraging numbers. In the United States, Toxic had crossed $120,000 in advance sales, with more than 5,500 tickets sold across hundreds of shows and locations even before the Indian advance-booking window opened.

Adding to the hype, Toxic had already crossed one million interests on BookMyShow ahead of its release, signalling the enormous curiosity surrounding Yash’s return to the big screen after KGF: Chapter 2.

The scale of the release is equally striking. The film is expected to arrive in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and English, with distributors preparing a major international rollout.

Toxic has also received an A certificate from the CBFC, with no cuts mandated, although certain word changes and warnings were requested. The certification fits the film’s darker, mature tone and its positioning as an action-heavy gangster drama for grown-up audiences.

With bookings moving at a rapid pace and theatres adding shows to meet demand, Toxic has already created the kind of pre-release storm normally associated with major event films.

The real question now is whether this advance-booking frenzy will translate into a record-breaking opening on August 26. If the current momentum continues, Yash’s Toxic could be walking into theatres not merely as another big release, but as one of the year’s biggest cinematic events.
