Celebrating the rich diversity of India through the universal language of sweets, renowned Kannada actor and culinary personality Sihi Kahi Chandru has come up with a unique musical album titled ‘Sambramada Ruchi Onde’ for India Sweets, the rapidly growing sweets brand headed by proprietor Rajesh Mehta.

Inspired by the iconic national integration song ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’, the musical venture brings together multiple Indian languages and cultural traditions under one festive theme. With its central message of “Bhashe Halavu, Bhava Ondu…Sambramada Ruchi Onde” (Many languages, many emotions, but one taste of celebration), the song highlights the spirit of unity in diversity through India’s varied sweets and festive customs.

The album opens and concludes in Kannada, weaving in Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Hindi and other languages along the way. It celebrates the distinctive flavors of sweets from different regions, including Rajasthani, Bengali and Maharashtrian traditions, while underlining how sweets remain an integral part of celebrations across India, irrespective of language or culture

Sihi Kahi Chandru, known for his extensive culinary knowledge and for hosting the popular ‘Bombat Bhojana’ of 1800 episodes reality show, spearheaded the project with an accomplished team of artists and technicians.

Music director Praveen D. Rao, who described the composition as a modular song, was chosen to give the musical concept its distinctive identity. Lyricist Kaviraj was associated with the project, while cinematographer Advaita Gurumurthy brought visual appeal to the song. National Award-winning editor Suresh Urs handled the editing, and choreographer Dhan Kumar designed the dance movements.

Renowned actress Sudharani expressed her happiness at being part of the project, describing it as a refreshing experience and a matter of pride that a Kannada-led team had undertaken such a multilingual initiative. Chandru affectionately referred to her as a laddu, a gesture she accepted graciously.

Vishwanath Murthy of India Sweets described the shoot as a memorable experience, recalling Chandru’s disciplined approach on the sets and the dedication with which the team worked to bring the concept to life.

Speaking about the initiative, Rajesh Mehta, proprietor of India Sweets, congratulated Chandru and the entire team for creating a meaningful musical project. He said the brand had grown to 56 outlets across Karnataka and thanked Chandru and his team for their tremendous support in bringing the initiative to fruition. Chandru, in turn, appreciated Mehta’s extensive knowledge of sweets from different parts of India, which helped strengthen the cultural foundation of the project.

Shwetha Rajasekhar, Bharatanatyam artiste and partner at India Sweet House, explained the idea behind the initiative. “When we thought about how to remain in people’s hearts, the idea of making a song came to us. We wanted to create something that would connect with everyone by bringing together different languages, cultures and traditions. The song can be watched on the India Sweet House YouTube channel. We did not make it for advertising; we created it to celebrate every festival,” she said.

Designed as a celebration of India’s culinary and cultural diversity, ‘Sambramada Ruchi Onde’ seeks to connect with audiences across generations and regions. The song is available on YouTube and social media platforms, allowing viewers to experience its message of togetherness through music.

Veteran actor Srinath, Mukyamantri Chandru, Ravishankar, Sudharani, Hita, Kiran, Kushi Chandrasekhar, Smt Gowri and environmentalist Vidushi Revathi Kamat are among the prominent personalities who have acted in the song.
