Highly experienced and knowledgeable retired State and Central Government employee Kemparamu Hediyala is all set to present a unique concept film, Raithara Makkalige Hennu Kodi (RMHK), which addresses a pressing social issue.
The film focuses on the growing difficulty faced by farmers’ sons in finding suitable brides. Director Kemparamu has woven this central theme with several other social concerns, drawing inspiration from his extensive professional career, particularly his experience in the cooperative movement, which forms another important aspect of the film.
A former lecturer who later served in the Education Department, worked with Akashavani, and subsequently held positions in the Cooperative Department, Kemparamu has rooted the film’s narrative in real-life observations. Addressing the media, he began with a Sanskrit shloka and remarked that the rise of nuclear families has contributed significantly to the widening social disparity. He pointed out that many village girls today are highly educated and increasingly place importance on social status while choosing life partners.
After screening the film’s trailer and presenting three melodious songs composed by Rohan S. Desai, the debut director emphasized the importance of the principle, “Each for all and all for each.” Owing to a few action sequences and an attempted rape scene, the film has received a U/A certificate from the Censor Board. Kemparamu hopes to release the film later this month.
The director also stated that the issues highlighted in the film will be brought to the attention of various farmers’ associations. A premiere of the film was held earlier in Hubballi, where it received positive appreciation from audiences.
Kemparamu Hediyala has handled the script, screenplay, dialogues, lyrics, production, and direction of Raithara Makkalige Hennu Kodi.
Another strong pillar of the project is Rohan S. Desai, who has served as the music director, cinematographer, editor, and singer. Through his visuals and music, he has successfully captured the local flavour, incorporating folk elements into the film’s four songs.
Venugopal has contributed as a dubbing artist and chorus singer. Mruthyunjay, owner of a studio in Rajajinagar, extended his support by providing studio facilities for the purposeful film.
Jayalakshmi Movies Raju, who has over two decades of experience as a production manager and distributor with nearly 180 films to his credit, observed that many young men delay marriage unnecessarily, a point that aligns with the film’s central theme.
Having acquired the film’s audio rights, Suresh Chikkanna of Siri Music praised the quality of the songs and noted that the film carries a meaningful social message. He added that society owes much to farmers, whose contributions make everyday life possible.
Divya, an engineering graduate working as a software developer, plays the female lead in the film. She had previously acted in a short film and expressed her wish to marry a progressive and modern-thinking farmer in real life.
The film’s protagonist, Jagadish Mukhi, was absent from the media interaction as he had become a proud father to a baby girl just a day earlier.
Raithara Makkalige Hennu Kodi is produced under the banner of Melluligaana Productions. Santosh Rathod has choreographed the action sequences, while Ajay Warrier, Rohan S. Desai, Agama Shastri, and Amogha Shastri have lent their voices to the film’s four songs.
The supporting cast includes Jai Amogha Das, Sangana Gowda, and others. The film was shot in and around Hubballi, Dharwad, and Belagavi, showcasing the region’s culture and landscape.
