From her lovely role in Kotigobba, alongside Karnataka Rathna Dr. Vishnuvardhan in the lead, Priyanka Upendra has gone from strength to strength in her career spanning over 50 films.
Today, she is the proud wife of superstar Upendra and the mother of two grown-up children. She has been balancing her family and professional life with great care and affection.
Still remembered for her ‘Hoove Hoove…’ song in H2O and her role in Malla with Crazy Star V. Ravichandran, Priyanka’s professional life has been colourful and absorbing.
At the media meet for her 50th film, Detective Theekshna, Priyanka Upendra spoke with grit and determination. Here is a look at her observations.
The leading lady, Priyanka Upendra, who looked slim and fit thanks to her regular workouts, appeared perfectly suited for the film at the media address.
According to Priyanka, the film’s first producer, Muni Prasanna, is the pillar of this project. She wished him a speedy recovery from his ill health and thanked the current producer, Purushottam, for continuing the project.
Turning to her career, Priyanka Upendra said that both her film Detective Theekshna and her son Ayush Upendra’s film are releasing this year. She said that, with the support of her family, she has been able to take up some very good roles of late.
“Life is beautiful today, and in this film, it is intelligence that captures the attention,” she said.
Almost like a resolution on the occasion of her 50th film, Priyanka Upendra said that the film touches upon the idea of an uneducated person using intelligence, and that this aspect of the film should be inculcated in real life as well.
“As we see so many tragedies, I feel that films should give encouragement to overcome hardships, especially among children. I would like to take this up seriously,” she said. She also felt that the decline in emotional stability among children should be addressed.
Priyanka also recalled programmes like Byomkesh Bakshi in Bengali, which, she said, served the needs of children by helping them face challenges in life.
Priyanka expressed great happiness that the censor board had not given even a single cut or mute for the film.
“Senior actor K.S. Sridhar is a lucky mascot for me in films. I like thriller movies and serials, and at home, Upendra says that this film has come out absolutely perfectly for me,” she said.
