The title of the much-awaited pan-India film ‘OM – Original Monster’ was unveiled at a grand event held at Modi Grounds in Kengeri, Bengaluru. The film brings together Kannada superstar Dr. Shiva Rajkumar and versatile Telugu actor Sunil in prominent roles.

Speaking at the event, R. Chandru became emotional while recalling his journey and his association with the media. “It is the media that nurtured and supported the children of ordinary families,” he said, acknowledging the role played by the media in encouraging filmmakers and artists.

He revealed that the story of OM – Original Monster has been in development for nearly two years, with several meetings with Shiva Rajkumar shaping the project. The filmmaker said the film has a strong connection to the concept of origin and mankind, while also promising a powerful entertainment experience. He described it as a film that blends emotion, action and entertainment and is designed to reach audiences across India.


The film will feature Shiva Rajkumar in a distinctly different character. Chandru indicated that the actor will be seen in an intense role involving anger, bloodshed and powerful emotions. He said Shiva Rajkumar has the ability to completely “switch on” a character when the camera starts rolling.

Shiva Rajkumar’s reaching 133 films is itself a remarkable achievement and expressed hope that the actor would continue his journey towards 200 films expressed Ashok Kheney.


With Shiva Rajkumar and Sunil coming together for the first time in this ambitious project, OM – Original Monster has already generated considerable curiosity among fans and the Kannada film industry. The film promises a combination of intense action, emotion, varied characters and a pan-Indian appeal

Actor Sunil, known for his versatility, will also be seen in a different and significant role. He said that after many years, he was excited to take up such a role and expressed confidence that the film’s emotions and message would connect with audiences irrespective of language.

Shiva Rajkumar praised producer R. Chandru and appreciated his vision for the project. He also spoke highly of Sunil’s versatility, saying the actor has successfully handled comedy as well as a variety of challenging characters. Shivarajakumar added that Indian cinema today has the freedom to experiment with roles, physical transformations and performances that can appeal to audiences at both national and international levels.

Taking on questions at his ‘Hat trick’ film launch with director and producer R Chandru, Shivarajakumar stated that pan India culture was started in the earlier days of his father Dr Rajakumar films. It is not new. One should know the past to tag something now he categorically corrected a journalist.

On his coming films Shivarajakumar explained that he will have three releases this year. ‘Bail’ of Pawan Wodeyar direction will be the first to hit among three films he said.
