The 72 National film awards were announced yesterday. Five awards come to the Karnataka state for Kannada language, Tulu language and a book.
Best Tulu Film – Imbu (Shivadhwaj Shetty)
Best Kannada Film – Mithya (Rakshith Shetty)
Best Child Actor – Mithya (Athish S Shetty) – Shared
Best Actress in a Supporting Role – Roopashree Varkdy (Mithya) and best book is Kenchanuru Pradeep Kumar Shetty gets award for ‘Naaniruvude Nimagaagi Nadiruvude Nanagaagi’.
The Jury Members were Jayaraj (President), Om Raut, Asin Bajaj, Priya Krishnaswamy, Rakesh Ranjan, Napolean, Meera Chopra, Srilekha Mukherjee, Archana Udupa, V N Aditya and G Kala.
Veteran actor Mammooty and Karthik gets best actors, Yami is best actress, Rajakumar Periyaswamy is best director for ‘Amaran’ Tamil film. Article 370 is the best film.
