The upcoming Kannada crime thriller ‘Anirikshita Athithigalu’ (The Unexpected Guests) is set to hit theatres on September 18. Written and directed by Manoj Annaiah, the film revolves around unexpected situations and incidents unfolding within a single day.
The trailer was launched by popular actor Pramod Shetty, who expressed confidence in the team’s theatrical effort. “The trailer is an invitation to the audience. I am confident that this team will make a good film for theatres. I am happy after hearing the technicians speak positively about the film. I hope it becomes a success and brings good returns to the producer,” he said.
Pramod also revealed that the film was shot in a house where he had earlier worked for two months. “That house has a positive vibe. A film I acted in, which was shot there, became successful. I hope the same luck continues for this team,” he added.
Producer B. Vinod Kumar thanked Pramod Shetty for his support. Vinos Kumar also makes a special appearance in a small bar sequence.
Director Manoj Annaiah described the film as an A-certified crime thriller inspired by incidents from society. The story also explores relationships, urging youngsters to be careful in matters of love and highlighting the role of parents. Annaiah, who earlier made the short film 1964, said the film was shot in just 25 days within the planned budget, while the overall filmmaking process took about a year.
The director added that his 14-year friendship with some members of the team helped create a strong bond while making the film.
The technical team includes action choreographers Eric Vijay, while Swaminathan has scored the music. The song ‘Nee Banda Galige’ has already been released.
Lead actor Vivek Simha urged audiences to watch and support the film. The team has also prepared around 80 posters as part of its promotional campaign.
Actress Samprathi Alva, who plays the female lead, called the film technically strong. She revealed that she initially wondered whether she could handle the comedy portions, but said the team’s inputs helped her perform confidently. She appealed to audiences not to wait for the OTT release and to experience the film in theatres.
Haritasha praised the team’s unity and described Annaiah as a disciplined director. Debutant Daivik, who previously worked as an assistant director for nearly 10 years, said the project gave him valuable learning and appealed for media support.
Sri Datta, who has shared a decade-long friendship with members of the team, said the film was made with affection rather than simply as a task.
Actor Mythri Jaggi revealed that he underwent a major physical transformation for his role, reducing his weight from 109 kg to 72 kg. “I worked hard without looking back,” he said.
Dayal Pallavagere expressed happiness at sharing screen space and described his role as an “unexpected bumper opportunity.”
With its crime-thriller backdrop, social relevance and a young team working with strong conviction, ‘Anirikshita Athithigalu’ arrives in theatres on September 18, promising an intriguing theatrical experience.
