Swapna Mantapa, a Kannada film directed by Prof. Baraguru Ramachandrappa and produced by Babu Nayak under the Malai Mahadeshwara Enterprises banner, is set to release across Karnataka on July 25.
Mars Suresh, known for backing several quality films, is distributing the film under his banner.
Based on Baraguru Ramachandrappa’s novel of the same name, Swapna Mantapa revolves around the protection of heritage sites. The story unfolds in a village where a historic structure built by a king—called Swapna Mantapa—is threatened by misuse. The protagonists raise public awareness to protect the site, leading to a narrative filled with dramatic turns.
The film has been selected for screening at multiple international film festivals. Baraguru himself has written the screenplay, dialogues, and lyrics, apart from directing.
Vijay Raghavendra and Ranjani Raghavan play dual roles in the film. The cast also includes Sundarraj, Shobha Raghavendra, Rajani, Sundarraj Arasu, Ambarish Sarangi, Rajappa Dalavayi, Venkataraju, Ummattur Basavaraju, Shivalinga Prasad, and Mysore Manjula.
Technical credits include editing by Suresh Arasu, cinematography by Nagaraj Adavani, music by Shamitha Malnad, choreography by Tribhuvan, art direction by Hosamane Murthy, and associate direction by Nataraj Shivu and Praveen. The film is co-produced by H.P. Kavitha.
