After earning acclaim for directing the well-regarded film “Daari Yavudayya Vaikunthakke”, director Siddu Poornachandra, who consistently brings social concerns to the forefront, has already helmed several distinct films. Joining the lineup of Brahmakamala, Taarini, and Ee Paada Punya Paada is a new film titled “Puttannan Katte.”

On the director’s birthday, the team released the poster of “Puttannan Katte.” The first poster features a donkey, which the film team says is a good omen. The director mentioned that upcoming posters will introduce the actors.

“When everyone is making films about dogs, I wondered why I shouldn’t write a story and make a film about a donkey. That’s how this idea took shape,” said Siddu Poornachandra. “In this film, a donkey is used extensively alongside human actors. Initially, it was a challenge, but we had the actors rehearse with the donkey. After developing a bond between them, we proceeded with the shoot. For all of us, working with a donkey was a new experience. We paid attention to its temperament and planned the shoot accordingly. Preparations are now underway for the next phase of filming. Although it was tough in the beginning, within a couple of days, the donkey began cooperating with us — which was quite significant.” He added that he has written the story, screenplay, and dialogues, and is directing the film himself.

Produced under the Poornachandra Films banner, this is the first production venture of Tanmay S. Gowda. The lead roles are played by Aneesh Aryan and Bheemaesh. The supporting cast includes Kalarathi Mahadev, Siddu Mandya, Rashmi Mysore, Babu, Rohini, N.T. Ramaswamy, Lucky Shankar, Shruthi Gagan, Sowmya, Kavitha Kambaar, Leo Sharma, Vibha Vandan, and others.

Raju Hemmigepura is the cinematographer, editing is by Deepu, music is by Ananth Aryan, and sync sound is handled by Krishnamurthy.
