The film Mankuthimmana Kagga, based on the well-known poetry collection by noted writer Dr. D.V. Gundappa (DVG), is releasing this week.
Directed by Raj Ravishankar (V. Ravi), who has previously directed several Kannada films, the film brings DVG’s Mankuthimmana Kagga to the screen. It is produced by N. A. Shivakumar, with Meena Shivakumar as co-producer. The release is scheduled for May 23.
The film portrays the childhood days of DVG. Veteran actor Ramakrishna plays the role of Timmanna Master, Master Ranveer plays the young DVG (Somie), Bhavyashree Rai plays Alamelu, Ravinarayan appears as Venkataramanayya, and Lakshmi Nadagouda plays the role of the grandmother. The cast also includes Saiprakash, Narasegowda, and Srinivas Kemtur.
The story development, screenplay, and dialogues are by director Raj Ravishankar. The film has music by A. T. Ravish, cinematography by C. Narayan, and editing by R. D. Ravi (Dorairaju).
