The Artificial Intelligence-made film in Kannada, ‘Love You’, is hitting the silver screen this coming Friday. The film is releasing in a few theaters, as it is an experimental project made for the first time in the world.

Producer and director Narasimhamurthy, along with AI creator Nuthan, addressed the media and recounted the process of making an AI film possible.

Narasimhamurthy, after preparing the story and screenplay, received adequate response from the technology, and this marks his third film after Garudaksha and Container (Kannada films). “We initially thought of making a song album, but later received encouragement to turn it into a feature film,” he said. The regional censor board has certified the film as U/A, and he mentioned that six months of hard work made this film possible.

Nuthan, the AI creator, is an established editor in the Kannada film industry for the past 18 years. “The technology used for this film was already a bit old when we started. Escalating from 720p to 2K resolution was indeed a tough task. Only talent and patience pay off. I’ve used nearly 20 software applications. Nowadays, things have improved and one can achieve wonderful results. There are mistakes in this film, but over time, those will be sorted out,” he said. “We don’t get the exact results instantly. We have to wait for the alternatives that technology offers. I’ve spent 1000 hours working on this film. There are 16 characters in this 95-minute film.”

As the next project using AI technology and 4K resolution, Nuthan is coming up with a film on Nadaprabhu Kempegowda. The trailer of the film is set to release on the 27th of this month.
