After the box office success of Pushpa: The Rule, Tollywood star Allu Arjun has now signed a film with renowned Tamil filmmaker Atlee. This upcoming project will be bankrolled by the prestigious South Indian production house, Sun Pictures.
A star actor, a star director, and a reputed production company — the trio is gearing up to deliver another monumental film for Indian cinema.
The film was announced on the occasion of Allu Arjun’s 43rd birthday. Tentatively titled #AA22, this marks Allu Arjun’s 22nd film and director Atlee’s 6th directorial. Sun Pictures is set to bring this sci-fi action spectacle to life on the big screen, featuring the powerful combination of Allu Arjun and Atlee.
Touted to be a never-seen-before scientific action film, VFX work is already underway at prestigious studios across India and the United States.
The announcement of AA22 was officially made by Sun Pictures. The collaboration of producer Kalanithi Maran, actor Allu Arjun, and director Atlee has sparked high curiosity in the Indian film industry.
The ‘Stylish Star’ Allu Arjun, along with director Atlee and producer Kalanithi Maran, officially launched the project at the Sun Pictures production house office in Chennai.
They have also visited VFX studios in Los Angeles, USA, and held discussions with several top Hollywood experts involved in the film’s visual development.
Jose Fernandez, CEO and production designer of Ironhead Studio — known for his work on Spider-Man: Homecoming, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Age of Ultron — is onboard. VFX supervisor James Madigan, who has worked on G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Iron Man 2, and other top Hollywood titles, is also part of the crew. Their collaboration has increased global curiosity around the project.
Director Atlee shared his excitement, stating that the storyline is gripping and has been developed over several years. Under the visionary leadership of Kalanithi Maran at Sun Pictures and with the presence of Allu Arjun, he said he is eagerly looking forward to bringing this epic film to the screen.
