A crow is often considered a bad omen. As the vehicle of Lord Shanishwara, it takes center stage in the Kannada film Raaven, where it has been effectively utilized (via graphics) in a murder mystery thriller.
Educationist, travel businessman, areca grower, and activist Vishwanath is thrilled about the progress of the film. He shares a close connection with the cinema industry, as his father and elder brother have acted in a few Kannada films.
Kannada cinema has seen many films featuring various animals and birds. However, in Raaven, produced by Prabik Mogaveer and Vishwanath G.P. under the banners of Atma Cinemas and Vishwa Productions, and directed by Ved, the crow itself is a central character. The recently released trailer, which showcases a unique storyline, has been receiving widespread appreciation.

“Raaven” is named after a crow. Traditionally, if a crow bites you, you are supposed to take a bath. If it sits on a vehicle, you are advised to change the vehicle. It is believed that a crow should not enter the house and is often associated only with Shraddha rituals. However, the crow also possesses admirable qualities rarely seen in other birds. If a crow finds food, it calls its entire flock to share it. This film is built around such a crow as its main character.
Technically, Raaven is a rich visual experience. The CGI work is a major highlight, drawing the audience’s attention. With all production activities completed, the film is now set for release. Dilip Pai plays the lead role, alongside artists such as Dev Devaiah, Swapna Shettygar, Shreya Aaradhya, Suchendra Prasad, Leela Mohan, and Dinesh Mangalore. The film has been executed smoothly with the cooperation of both artists and technicians. “This is my second film as a director,” said director Ved, expressing gratitude to the producers for the opportunity.

Producer Prabik Mogaveer shared, “When director Ved narrated the story to me, I immediately decided to produce it. Later, Vishwanath joined the production. The film has shaped up well and will be released next month.”
“I returned to acting after a long time. The crow is the vehicle of Shani Mahatma, and this film revolves around a crow. Everyone calls me the hero of this film, but the real hero is the crow—I am merely its co-star,” said lead actor Dilip Pai. Echoing his words, actor Dev Devaiah added, “As Dilip said, the crow is the true hero of this film. My role is also significant.”
Heroine Swapna Shettygar, actor Leela Mohan, music director MAD D, and cinematographer Rakesh also spoke at the trailer launch event of Raaven.
