Pankaj Narayan, son of renowned director S. Narayan, has returned with a suspense thriller. The muhurat ceremony of the film, titled ‘Search’, was held at the Lakshmi Venkateshwara Swamy Temple in Muddinapalya, Nagarabhavi.
Speaking about the film, lead actor Pankaj said, “Ugram Murali had already launched the title of the film. Now, the muhurat has been conducted in the presence of dignitaries. First and foremost, it was the story that became the main reason for me to accept this film. It is the role of a unique person who takes up a challenging search with a single subject in mind.
“It is true that I am making a film after a gap. As my father says, I work with dedication on every film. But this time, it is true that I have got a role that I have never done before. Moreover, director Ramesh is someone who knows how to get the best out of actors by telling them exactly what is needed. So naturally, there are expectations.”
Director Y. B. Ramesh Kote has been associated with the film industry since the popular film ‘Diggajaru’. With experience as an associate director in the cinema and television industries, ‘Search’ is his first film as a director.
Sharing details about the film, Ramesh said, “This is a story that takes place in one night. We are planning to shoot it across 25 nights.
“We had planned to shoot the film in Hubballi language and at Hubballi’s Chennamma Circle itself. But when we went there and saw the place, it had changed a lot. So, we will set up a circle set in Bengaluru and make the film as a Bengaluru-based story. “The story involves the search for a girl who goes missing right before the hero’s eyes. At the same time, there is also a search for a software engineer’s luggage and laptop. The film will keep the audience watching with curiosity,” he assured.
Dhamini is paired opposite Pankaj in Search. “I am originally from Kodagu. Currently, I am acting in the serial ‘Mangalya’, which is being aired on Udaya TV,” she said.
Actress Kruthika Gowda said, “Every character in this film revolves around my character. To know the reason behind that, you have to watch the film. I got to know director Ramesh as the director of a short film. Now, I am happy to have got a prominent role in his directorial *Search.” She added that this is her fifth film.
Actor Subhan is playing another prominent role in the film. Having acted in a few small roles earlier, Subhan is also the co-producer of this film.
Popular lyricist Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad gave the clap. Actor Srinagar Kitty switched on the camera and wished the team, saying, “S. Narayan is my guru. Pankaj is the son of that guru. I wish Ramesh all the best and hope he completes this film neatly and successfully.”
Young producer Yogesh N. is investing in this film. A contractor by profession, Yogesh also has the support of his father, journalist Saurabh Nagaraj. Speaking about the film, Yogesh said, “The film has a good storyline. When I heard the story, it gave me a Malayalam cinema feel. That is why I agreed to produce it.”
