A few days ago, at the trailer launch of Toxic, rocking star Yash said, “I am a laborer of Indian cinema.” Now, Vijayakumar, alias Dhuniya Vijay, says, “I don’t consider myself a star… I am a worker,” at the song launch of his much-anticipated directorial venture City Lights.

After Salaga and Bheema, Sandalwood’s ‘Salaga’ Vijay Kumar’s third directorial venture, City Lights, is gearing up for release on September 18. Against this backdrop, the film’s fourth song has been released, and the love-themed song has attracted attention. The song features couples who have come to Bengaluru from distant places and built a life for themselves.

“Don’t lose love by listening to what others say… Love is rare, don’t lose it… When he sees her, he is crazy about her… When she sees him, she is crazy about him…” goes the song. Young artistes Siddu Moolimani, Payal Chengappa, and Sudhakar Gowda released the song and wished the team success.

The song from City Lights, directed by Vijay Kumar, has music composed by Charan Raj, with lyrics by Nagarjun Sharma. The song has been sung by Anthony Daasan.

Young actor Siddu Moolimani said, “The song has come out beautifully. While watching the song, I remembered my wife. The ‘Kandamma’ song has already attracted attention. At our events, we are not recognised. Thank you for giving us an opportunity on such a big platform.”

Payal Chengappa said she believed that people would appreciate this song just as they appreciated the song ‘Kandamma’.

Sudhakar Gowda said, “If there is talent, colour does not matter. Whenever I have to seek permission at home, I have to mention Vijay sir’s name. He is a great inspiration to youngsters. It is difficult to find heroines; they don’t even listen to the story.”

Director Vijay Kumar said, “Young artistes will take the film industry forward. We are coming along with you. Take us forward with you… The couples who have built their lives are shown in the song. They are an inspiration to us. Parents are the visible gods. That is why I have also included a photo of my father and mother.”

“Cinema and music will never cheat you. That is why I am making films with hard work. The couples featured in the song are those who came to Bengaluru and built their lives here. We searched for such couples and got their photographs taken. This song will not be part of the film. It will be available on YouTube,” he said.

“Just like Salaga and Bheema, the entire team has worked hard. We are waiting for the result. I can proudly say that this is a film that will bring respect to women,” he said.

“I don’t consider myself a star… I am a worker. One day, an award will come; I will receive it and get back to work. I have followed that principle. Showing the truth as truth is a challenging task. One more song is pending. We need everyone’s support for the film. Vinay Rajkumar is a good actor. It was a pleasure working with him,” he said.

Actor Vinay Rajkumar said, “I played the song for my mother. She was happy. The song from City Lights is about love. Every couple has created a world of their own. Working with Vijay Kumar was a wonderful experience. It is not possible to give just one definition of love. Love means giving time… During the shooting, it increased my curiosity about the film.”

Actress Monisha said, “I don’t have enough knowledge to speak about love. The film has come out excellently. I hope everyone extends their support.”

Lyricist Nagarjun Sharma said, “This is the soul of City Lights. Finding love is rare. Let us preserve it.”

Music director Charan Raj said, “The song has come out well because of director Vijay sir’s guidance.”
