The makers of Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, headlined by Yash, have officially introduced two new characters to the film’s world — Akshay Oberoi as Tony and Sudev Nair as Karmadi.
Akshay Oberoi’s character Tony carries a 1950s-inspired look, complete with long sideburns and a vintage silhouette. The character is presented as someone shaped by violence and experience, with a composed yet menacing presence.
Sudev Nair appears as Karmadi, portrayed as a grounded and intense figure. With a flat cap, defined moustache, and a gun in hand, the character is positioned as a steady presence amid the film’s unfolding conflict.
Director Geetu Mohandas spoke about casting Sudev Nair, stating that finding the right actor for Karmadi was essential to the journey of the film. She said she needed someone who could bring a quiet strength and supportive presence to the project, adding that Sudev’s understated craft and commitment contributed significantly both on and off screen.
Speaking about Akshay Oberoi, she said his curiosity and approach to understanding the emotional depth of scenes stood out. According to her, he engages deeply with the script, seeking clarity about the emotional structure of each moment. She added that his involvement brought a sense of discovery even in intense scenes.
The recently released teaser of Toxic recorded over 200 million views within 24 hours of its launch. It introduced Yash in a clean-shaven look as the character ‘Ticket,’ leading to speculation about a possible dual role.
The film is written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Geetu Mohandas. It has been simultaneously shot in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and other languages.
Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 19 March 2026. The cast also includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria in pivotal roles.
