The Kannada film Gorgeous Rascal, a dark comedy backed by a new team, is scheduled to hit theatres on March 6. The project has drawn attention for its title and marks a fresh attempt by emerging talent in the industry.
The film is produced under the banner of Lakshmi Productions by R. Chetan Krishna, who has also composed the music for the project. Two songs composed by Chetan Krishna have already been released. The tracks have been sung by noted Tamil playback singer Velmurugan and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame Darshan Narayan, and have received a positive response from listeners.
The film has been written and directed by Pramod Joys, who has handled both the story and screenplay. Cinematography is by Shanku, editing by Akshay P Rao, and sound design by Nandu (KGF). Srinivas Bettadapura serves as co-producer, while Charan Suvarna is the creative head of the project.
The cast includes Prerana Bhat, Yuvin, Rajveer Singh, Chetan Mahesh, Shaktikumar, Sunil Puranik and Swati, among others.
According to the makers, the film blends a dark comedy narrative with commercial elements aimed at engaging audiences. Shooting has taken place in Bengaluru and Maharashtra. Producer and music director R. Chetan Krishna stated that Gorgeous Rascal is his debut production and expressed hope for audience support ahead of its March 6 release.
