The upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has secured a major overseas distribution deal ahead of its release. International distributor Phars Film has acquired the overseas rights for the Indian-language versions of the film, marking one of the largest overseas acquisitions for an Indian film to date. The deal involves an advance of ₹105 crore on a commission basis.
Earlier, Toxic became the first non-Telugu film to enter into a ₹120 crore distribution agreement in the Andhra Pradesh–Telangana market with Sri Venkateswara Creations, headed by Dil Raju. The overseas deal with Phars Film applies only to the Indian-language versions of the film—Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam—and does not include the English version.
Phars Film CEO and Founder Ahmad Golchin stated that the company aims to present films that connect with audiences across regions and said the overseas release of Toxic is an important step for the distributor. He added that the film’s themes are expected to resonate with international audiences.
Venkat K. Narayana of KVN Productions said the film was conceived to appeal to a global audience and that Phars Film was chosen for its experience in international distribution. He expressed confidence in the distributor’s ability to handle the film’s overseas release across multiple territories. Actor Yash’s previous film KGF: Chapter 2 recorded significant box office collections in international markets, including the GCC region. That performance has been cited as a reference point for the expectations surrounding Toxic in overseas markets.
The film is planned for an extensive international release, covering most global territories except Nepal, Japan, and China. Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and additional languages.
The technical crew includes cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, music composer Ravi Basrur, editor Ujwal Kulkarni, and production designer T. P. Abid. Action sequences have been choreographed by JJ Perry, Anbariv, and Kecha Khamphakdee. The film is produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under the banners of KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. Toxic is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa.
