The film Father, produced under the banner of R.C. Studios by filmmaker R. Chandru, has completed all production-related work and is ready for release. As part of the film’s promotions, the theme video of Father was released recently at an event held in a five-star hotel in the city.
The theme video was released by R. Chandru’s father, who was the chief guest at the event. Unlike the usual practice of inviting film stars or prominent personalities for such launches, the filmmaker chose his father to release the video. The event highlighted the father–son relationship, which is also the central theme of the film.
R.C. Studios has produced Father with the intent of presenting a story centred on the bond between a father and son. The theme video indicates that the film focuses on emotional elements related to this relationship.
Following the film Kabzaa, R. Chandru has taken up production responsibilities while the direction of Father has been handled by Raj Mohan. The film stars Prakash Raj in the role of the father and Darling Krishna as the son. R. Chandru is also associated with the project in a supervisory role.
The cast also includes Amrutha Iyengar and Nagabhushana, who is known for his work in Tagaru Palya. The film brings together Prakash Raj and Darling Krishna for the first time.
Father has been filmed across multiple locations including Mysuru, Dharmasthala, Mangaluru, Bengaluru, and Varanasi. The film has been shot with the intention of releasing it in multiple languages.
The technical team includes Sujnan as the director of photography and Nakul Abhyankar as the music composer.
R. Chandru, who earlier directed films such as Taj Mahal and later Kabzaa, has directed thirteen films so far in his career and has also produced several projects. Following Kabzaa, which was released across a large number of screens worldwide, discussions continue regarding his next directorial project.
No official announcement has been made yet regarding his upcoming film as a director.
