A peppy, foot-tapping song featuring lavish sets designed by Hosmane Murthy from the Kannada film Spark was unveiled at a grand event attended by a large gathering.
The song, which begins with “Shakalaka Bhoom Bhoom…”, features Niranjan Sudhindra and Rachana Inder, and received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
Producer Avinash Vasishta said, “I have watched the first copy of the film. I am not saying this just because my wife has produced it. It has genuinely turned out very well. This song is sure to become a hit everywhere.” He added that even watching just thirty seconds of the song is enough to realize how well-crafted and engaging it is. Sharing his pride, Avinash said that after spending over thirty years in the IT industry as a service provider with a turnover exceeding ₹20 billion, he is delighted to see his wife making such a remarkable effort in the film industry as well. “I love films with happy endings,” he concluded while speaking about one of the film’s biggest strengths.
After watching the energetic song featuring Niranjan and Rachana Inder, actor Prem, who plays the antagonist in Spark, praised the team. “Niranjan is one of Kannada cinema’s finest talents. Before filmmakers from other languages hijack him, Kannada producers should make the best use of his talent. The producers of this film have the knowledge and financial strength to make a Hollywood film, yet they have invested several crores in making a film for a young Kannada hero. That deserves appreciation,” he said.
Speaking about the song, Niranjan Sudhindra revealed that he had already shown it to his uncle, actor Upendra. “I showed the song to my uncle, and he said, ‘You have got a song that usually comes to a big star.’ I consider myself fortunate. Sachin has composed the music very creatively. This is the fastest film to be completed in my career, and the reason behind that is the presence of corporate producers,” he said.
Rachana Inder, who stars opposite Niranjan, said, “This is my first commercial song.” She also mentioned that she is appearing in such a glamorous look for the first time.
Director Mahanthesh Handral said, “This has been a one-year journey. I am happy that what I envisioned has come alive on screen. Most importantly, Prem agreed to play a negative role and supported us throughout, which gave us immense confidence.”
Music director Sachin Basrur, who has composed all four songs in Spark, including this first release, said, “I have been in the film industry for many years, but I hope this song gives me the breakthrough I have been waiting for. There are four songs in the film, and Prem also has a special song.”
Lyricist Pramod Maravante said, “You have also watched the Hindi version of this song here. I have written the Hindi lyrics as well. The Kannada version incorporates the North Karnataka dialect, which is one of my favourite dialects.”
The song, sung by popular Kannada actor Sharan along with playback singer Sangeetha Ravindranath, was performed live on stage by Sangeetha Ravindranath and Sachin Basrur, adding to the excitement of the event.
Producer couple Garima and Avinash Vasishta, along with Manohar Naidu, owner of Lahari Music, which has acquired the film’s audio rights, officially released the song on stage.
Art director Hosmane Murthy said that simply listening to the song inspired him to design a grand set for its filming.
Editor Madhu and cinematographer Swamy J. Gowda also appreciated the song during the event.
Actors Mahanthesh Hiremath and Dharmanna, choreographer Murali, dialogue writer Raghu Niduvalli, and several members of the film’s team also addressed the media.
Spark is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 25.
