The sequel to the Kannada film Ragini IPS, titled Ragini IPS 2, has been announced on the birthday of actress Ragini Dwivedi. Released 12 years ago, Ragini IPS featured Ragini Dwivedi in the lead role. The upcoming sequel will continue the story from where the first film ended.
The film will mark the directorial debut of Gururaj Jaggesh and Yathiraj Jaggesh, sons of actor Jaggesh. Both Gururaj and Yathiraj were previously known as actors and are now entering direction through this project. K Manju and Ragini Ventures are jointly producing the film. More details about the project were shared during Ragini Dwivedi’s birthday event.
Speaking about the film, Gururaj and Yathiraj said they had been preparing for direction since 2019. They added that acting and direction are different fields and that direction requires preparation. According to them, directing an actress like Ragini Dwivedi, who already has popularity and a fan following, is a responsibility. They also stated that Ragini IPS 2 will continue directly from the point where the story of Ragini IPS concluded.
Ragini Dwivedi said the media had supported her since the beginning of her film career and therefore the announcement of her new film was made in the presence of the media on her birthday. She also expressed happiness over K Manju joining the project as producer and Gururaj and Yathiraj directing the film.
Producer K Manju said he has known Ragini Dwivedi since the beginning of her acting career and described her as a good actress. He added that Ragini had informed him that directors would narrate a story to him, following which Gururaj and Yathiraj narrated the story of Ragini IPS 2. He said the content was good and confirmed that Ragini Ventures had joined the production.
