The upcoming film Ramayana is set to release worldwide on November 5. Ahead of its release, the film’s team has kicked off its promotional campaign in Bengaluru, unveiling the trailer and sharing insights about the highly anticipated project. The entire cast and crew attended an event at Orion Mall, Bengaluru, including lead actor Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, who plays Ravana, and Sai Pallavi, the female lead.
“Many people have asked me why I chose to play Ravana. Everyone needs to understand one thing: along with the opportunities we receive, we also have a responsibility to contribute something to the film industry. In the Kannada film industry, Premada Oorali has been a major success. The industry needs both kinds of efforts. We must look beyond our boundaries and break the barriers and walls that stand in our way. At the same time, we must strengthen our foundation. We need new talent, directors and actors to emerge, and even small-scale efforts must succeed. The level of success Kannada audiences have given us fills us with confidence and enthusiasm,” he said.
Without explicitly mentioning his recently released film Toxic, Yash also acknowledged the immense love and support he had received from his fans. “I have seen the extent of love people have shown me. I know how much you fought for the film and how, despite everything, you still went and watched it. I can never repay that debt of gratitude. I will do my best to fulfill the responsibility you have entrusted to me. I strongly believe this film will make a significant impact worldwide. We are setting out to represent India, and I stand here representing the people of Karnataka,” Yash said.
Emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in bringing stories like Ramayana to the world, Yash said that the entire Indian film industry must come together to create such ambitious projects. “As a Kannadiga, I have now been given the opportunity to be part of this film. None of us has ever looked at this as just another movie. We have worked on it with devotion, dedication and reverence. We made this film with a deep desire to tell our story, our country’s story, to the world,” he added.
Yash further highlighted the importance of taking creative risks and looking beyond geographical boundaries, regardless of success or failure. “Sometimes, we must go beyond our boundaries and make an effort without worrying about the outcome. Such efforts can become milestones in history and may even serve as stepping stones for those who follow. We all need to come together to make this happen.
If we want to conquer the world, we must support one another. Sometimes, I see people on social media criticising films, saying that the graphics are not good or that a particular actor is not suitable for a role. Instead of pulling each other down, we should come together to support good cinema. Only then can we make our mark on the global stage.
Regardless of success or failure, we must continue experimenting and bringing something new to the table. Every such effort can inspire and encourage many others,” he concluded.
