The teaser of ‘Kempambudhi’, a film that brings to the screen the inspiring life, vision, and legacy of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda, the founder of Bengaluru, has been released. The film is presented by the Prashanth Prakash Family Foundation, with support from Hombale Music.

The thoughts of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda—a visionary administrator, people’s leader, and someone who understood and implemented the importance of environmental conservation much ahead of his time—remain an inseparable part of Bengaluru’s identity even today. Based on the popular novel by writer Janagere Venkataramaiah, ‘Kempambudhi’ is a unique film that brings together history, folklore, legends, and cultural memories.

More than just a historical narrative, the film attempts to connect the Bengaluru of the past with the Bengaluru of today. Along with reminding people of the lush green glory of the slowly fading ‘Garden City’ in a rapidly growing metropolis, the film also seeks to draw society’s attention towards environmental conservation and the core values on which the city was built.

By supporting this film, the Prashanth Prakash Family Foundation has once again reaffirmed its commitment to preserving and promoting Bengaluru’s heritage, history, and green legacy for future generations.

The film stars Nenapirali Prem, Meghana Gaonkar, Rajesh Nataranga, Sudha Belawadi, Samyukta Hornad, Nagashree Begar, Rajendra Karanth, Ramesh Handit, B.L. Ravikumar, Nataraj Rao, and several others in prominent roles.

The support extended by the Prashanth Prakash Family Foundation towards such initiatives that introduce Karnataka’s history, culture, and heritage to the younger generation is a significant step. Through this film, which portrays the vision and farsighted thinking of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda, there is also an effort to create greater awareness among people about the responsibility of preserving Bengaluru’s green heritage.

“Stories like Kempambudhi, which remind our society of the great personalities who laid a strong foundation and of their ideals, are truly valuable. The concern shown by the Prashanth Prakash Family Foundation in supporting a film that honours the unparalleled contribution of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda and Bengaluru’s magnificent history is commendable. This effort, which introduces the history of our proud city to today’s generation while inspiring the next generation to take responsibility for safeguarding its green future, feels very close to my heart.” – Vijay Kiragandur, Founder, Hombale Films.
