It marks a return to the Kannada film industry after nearly two decades for sitting MLA, producer, and actor C.P. Yogeeshwar, known for films such as Sainika and Uttara Dhruvadinda Dakshina Dhruvaku. This time, he is launching his handsome and well-prepared son, Dhyan Yogeeshwar, in the ambitious venture Karnata Balam Ajeyam.
The film’s lavish scale was evident to the media that visited the sets at the historically significant town of Badami on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Thousands of dancers, technicians, and an equally large number of curious onlookers filled the spectacular hill-and-rock backdrop, creating an impressive atmosphere for the shoot.
Looking well-prepared for his debut, Dhyan Yogeeshwar showcased his impressive physique while performing energetic dance sequences in grand costumes. He danced to the choreography of Bhajarangi Mohan and his team.
The shoot presented several challenges. Strong winds, intermittent drizzle, and frequent bursts of sunshine made filming a demanding task for ace cinematographer Shekar Chandru, who, along with a large team of assistants, was shooting the title song using two cameras. Drone photography was reportedly not permitted at the location, making the shoot even more challenging.
The grandeur of the title song was further enhanced by Karnataka’s rich traditional art forms. Performers of Dollu Kunitha, Yakshagana, Nandi Kamba, and other folk traditions participated in the sequence, adding cultural richness and visual appeal. The song, which reflects the strength and spirit of the film, was shot across both sides of the majestic hill formations. The river flowing alongside the rocky landscape provided breathtaking visuals for Shekar Chandru’s camera.
More than 60 media personnel from Bengaluru travelled nearly 600 kilometres to Badami to witness the shoot. Karnata Balam Ajeyam truly lived up to its title by displaying immense strength in terms of scale, with thousands of people working both in front of and behind the camera. For the visiting media, climbing the rocky hill to reach the shooting spot became an adventure in itself.
Closely supervising every aspect of the production was Sheela Yogeeshwar, who warmly welcomed the media while keeping a close watch on every movement and detail of the lavish production. She also interacted with the press and shared her views on the film.
Although song shoots generally do not require the presence of the film’s key creative team, this schedule was an exception. Veteran director Naganna, along with noted writers and directors M.S. Ramesh and Suresh Raj, were present throughout the shoot.
As the shoot took place on a Sunday, thousands of tourists visiting Badami enjoyed the spectacle. Many captured the colourful proceedings on their mobile phones and expressed their excitement at witnessing such a massive film production.
At the historic Badami Fort, Dhyan Yogeeshwar performed energetically to the song “Badami Seemeyidu Enta Sobagu…” alongside thousands of dancers and supporting artistes. The song has lyrics by Trilok Trivikram, choreography by Mohan Master, and music composed by V. Harikrishna.
The scale, cultural richness, and visual grandeur of the Badami schedule indicate that Karnata Balam Ajeyam is being mounted as one of the most ambitious Kannada productions in recent times.
