There was one wonderful ‘Makkala Sainya’ in1980 in Kannada and this one with the same title ‘Makkala Sainya’ is in the debut direction of editor S K Sunil Kumar, is set to hit the screens on May 22.
After the film “Simhada Mari Sainya” that came out in the 1970s, there hasn’t been a children’s film of that kind. This film carries a similar storyline. The movie includes four elements: friendship, adventure, the bond between father and daughter, and Sanatana. It doesn’t feel like the children are acting for the first time—they have performed that brilliantly. The film was shot in Akki Hebbalu of K.R. Pete in Mandya district. Senior writer Dodderange Gowda has written the lyrics, and Sanniraj has composed the music. Though it is a children’s film, it has been made on par with commercial cinema. The film releases on May 22. I myself have written the story, screenplay, and dialogues. Muniswamy has produced the film, and Sangeetha has worked as co-director. “Makkala Sainya” carries the tagline “Savalige Savaal,” said director Sunil Kumar.
Producer Muniswamy (retired from police department a drama artist too) and actors Mahalakshmi, Gagana, Sonakshi, Shashank, Robert, Rudrappa and others also spoke about the film “Makkala Sainya.
