Directed by P.C. Shekhar and produced by Prakash Buduru under the Akash Pictures banner, “Mahan” has been creating a lot of curiosity since its inception.
The film stars Shivaraj Kumar and Vijay Raghavendra in the lead roles and features several stalwarts of the Kannada film industry. “Bigg Boss” fame Namratha Gowda and Kiran Srinivas, who has acted in several popular films including “Haage Summane”, are playing important roles in the film. The “Mahan” team recently released the first looks of Namratha Gowda and Kiran Srinivas.
“It had been my long-standing wish to act under the direction of P.C. Shekhar. That wish has been fulfilled through this film. Also, the production by Prakash Buduru is very meticulous. This is the best production house I have seen. When P.C. Shekhar narrated the story of this film, I liked both my character and the story very much. I am seen in the role of an educated woman in this film. She is a woman who completes her education in the city and returns to the village to become a voice for the struggles of farmers. I am very happy to have acted in this film alongside our beloved Shivanna, Vijay Raghavendra, Radhika Narayan, Mitra and many other renowned artistes,” says actress Namratha Gowda.
Actor Kiran Srinivas, who is playing another important role, said: “The first look of my character from the film ‘Mahan’ has been unveiled. My character is a boy who comes from a village to the city, becomes educated and dreams of going abroad for employment. But what he does after returning to the village forms the essence of my character’s story. I am very happy to have acted in a film that carries a good message for society.
