The teaser and audio of the Kannada film ‘Madanika’ were released recently in the presence of the film’s cast and crew. Actress Ragini Dwivedi plays the lead role in the film, which is directed by B. S. Sanjay.
‘Madanika’ is produced by Sujatha Lakshmi and Kumaraswamy under the banners of ‘SPR Productions’ and ‘Sakarth Digital House.’ The title ‘Madanika’ is derived from a form of sculpture commonly seen in temples, and the makers said the name suited the story of the film.
Speaking at the event, director B. S. Sanjay said the film is a fictional story set around 400 years ago and unfolds across two timelines. He stated that both old Kannada and modern Kannada styles have been used in the dialogues according to the situations in the film. He also said the team spent nearly two years on post-production work.
Music director Salam Veroli said the film features around 10 songs composed in a classical style. He added that the lyrics include both old Kannada and modern Kannada writing styles.
Actress Ragini Dwivedi described the film as a time travel story that moves across two timelines. She said her character has two different shades and that the film includes elements of love, action, thriller, and classical music. According to her, the film has been made with a focus on nativity. She also said that roles of this kind are rare in an actor’s career and that acting in the film was a good experience. She added that the film will be released soon and that there are expectations surrounding the project.
Apart from Ragini Dwivedi, the film also stars Dharma Keerthiraj, Dev Gill, Harish Raj, Rajvi, and Shashikumar in prominent roles. The film has cinematography by R. Giri. The songs are composed by Salam Veroli, with lyrics written by K. Kalyan, Dr. Devanand, and others. Madan Harini and Tribhuvan have choreographed the songs.
The makers are planning to release ‘Madanika’ in theatres in July.
