The team of ‘Kaada’ appeared before the media just a few days ahead of its release, creating a strong buzz with the trailer screened at Utsav Legacy in GT Mall on Wednesday afternoon.

Producer Amit Kumar Saxena, in a video message presented during the media briefing emphasized the importance of the film and urged audiences to watch it and share their reviews.

Director Vishruth Naik has chosen a highly relevant and compelling subject, which makes ‘Kaada’ an essential watch. The film draws inspiration from the findings of the Royal Society Rosalind Franklin Lecture 2017, presented by Professor Essi Viding. According to the study, around 2% of people are born with psychopathic traits that are difficult to control. The director also mentioned a real-life example of an eight-year-old boy in India with an intensely rebellious nature.

‘Kaada’, starring Jayaram Karthik (JK), is all set to release on April 10. JK, who has established himself in both films and television, plays the lead role in this psycho-thriller. The film is produced by Amit Kumar Saxena and directed by State Award-winning actor Vishruth Naik.

Speaking about the film, the director said, “Kaada is my third directorial venture and presents a unique storyline within the psycho-thriller genre. It revolves around psychopaths. I conducted extensive research and gathered information from various sources before writing the script. According to one study, about 2% of people are born as psychopaths rather than shaped by circumstances, and this forms the core of the story.”

He further added that the film begins with two separate storylines that eventually merge into one. “JK has delivered an exceptional performance in a role unlike anything he has done before. Actors such as Kavya Shetty, Achyuth Kumar, Ugram Manju, and Sriram have also given strong performances. The film features music by the late Satish Babu, cinematography by Arun Suresh, and editing by Vikas Chandra. The action sequences are handled by Ramesh and myself. Our producer, Amit Kumar, based in the USA, ensured that the film was made without compromises. Fans of psycho-thrillers will definitely enjoy this film,” he said.

Jayaram Karthik (JK), speaking at the event, described Kaada as his dream project. “Since the beginning of my career, I have been grateful for all the support I’ve received. When Vishruth Naik narrated the story, I immediately liked it. He has put immense effort into shaping it. As mentioned, this is a psycho-thriller, and I am playing a role I have never attempted before. I believe both my character and the film will be appreciated by audiences. Most of the shooting took place in Sakleshpur. The technicians and co-actors have done a fantastic job. I request everyone to watch and support our film,” he said.

Editor Vikas Chandra, who previously worked as an associate director on UPPI 2, expressed confidence that the film is worth watching. He also fondly remembered music director Satish Babu, noting that his background score is impressive.

Actor Sriram remarked that Kaada is a film that will “haunt everyone.”

With a taut screenplay, the film carries a chilling tone, reflected in lines like: “Observe, stay alert, strike, and leave no evidence. I like killing. I love killing,” capturing the disturbing mindset of the psychopath at its core.
