Director Kumar, who has tasted success with three films featuring distinctive storylines, has now come up with a rooted narrative presented in a thoroughly entertaining manner through his latest film, Amaravathi. The film has been attracting attention from the beginning, including for its title and several other reasons. Now, a song titled ‘Dooriyamma’ from the film has been released.
This song, which carries a rare and distinctive folk flavor, also offers the audience glimpses of the world of Amaravathi.
Naveen Sajju, who has earned a name as a singer with his unique style of singing, plays the lead role in Amaravathi. The folk-based song ‘Dooriyamma’ has been written and composed by Naveen Sajju himself. Interestingly, rural folk artiste Kinnari Jogi Siddappa has lent his voice to the song, with Naveen Sajju also joining him. The film team discovered Kinnari Jogi Siddappa through social media and got him to sing the song. The song has been picturized in a natural setting in the Haadis of Piriyapatna and the Madikeri region. Through this song, a glimpse of the film’s overall storyline has also been revealed.
Kumar had earlier directed films such as ‘Chemistry of Kariyappa’, ‘Critical Keerthanegalu’ and ‘Love You Muddu’. With Amaravathi, he has also taken on the role of producer. The film, which belongs to the comedy-thriller genre, is inspired by a real-life incident and revolves around an exciting story that unfolds within a single day, the film team has revealed. Set against a rural backdrop, the narrative also touches upon a serious issue such as environmental destruction. With this film, director Kumar has ventured into a different path.
Kumar has produced the film under the banner of Kesari Film Capture. Naveen Sajju plays the lead role, while the cast includes Girish Shivanna, Yash Shetty, Sameeksha Ram, Gauri Shaiva, Sumanth, Vishwa Vijetha and others.
The technical team comprises Naveen Challa as cinematographer, Venki UDV and Deepu C.S. as editors, Purushotham as art director, and Naveen Sajju and Akash Parva as music directors. The film’s release date will be announced shortly.
