Actor Prithvi Ambaar, known for Dia, Chowkidar, Bhuvanam Gaganam and various others films a multi talented actor, has for the first time turned director with the film ‘Bulldog’. The movie, made in the dark humor genre, features Prithvi Ambaar himself as the lead actor.
Prithvi Ambaar, who gained popularity through the film Diya and has earned recognition in both Tulu and Kannada cinema, has quietly completed the final schedule of shooting for his debut directorial ‘Bulldog’ and is now gearing up for post-production.

‘Bulldog’ revolves around the story of four boys from a village. Due to certain reasons, they come to Bengaluru. The narrative unfolds over a span of two months, focusing on the mistakes they make in the city and the incidents that occur until they return to their village.

In the film, Prithvi Ambaar plays a character named ‘Bulldog’. Interestingly, this is not a bilingual film made separately in two languages; instead, both Kannada and Tulu are organically used within the film. The characters speak Kannada while in Bengaluru and Tulu when they are in their village. Hence, it cannot be categorized strictly as either a Tulu or Kannada film. Director Prithvi Ambaar is experimenting with using English subtitles for both languages. Several artists from Kannada, Tulu, and Malayalam industries, including those from Su from so, are part of this film.

“I have always had an interest in making films, so I formed my own team and started working. Comedy is my favorite subject. Along with humor, I have experimented with a touch of dark humor. Real-life incidents and people from the environment I grew up in have inspired this story and its characters,” says director Prithvi Ambaar. The film is produced by Launch Lal under Astra Productions. It features cinematography by Chenthumepayer, music composed by Nishan Rai, and editing by Ganesh Neerchal. The cast includes Sihi Gowda, Aradhana Bhat, Prajwal Pai, Naveen D. Padeel, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, and Prakash Thuminad in prominent roles.
