With the onset of Ashada Maasa (July 15 to August 12), several Kannada films have gone on the floors with muhurut ceremonies. Since Ashada is traditionally considered inauspicious for new ventures, filmmakers are rushing to launch their projects before the period begins.
The title of the third Kannada film to be produced under the Akash Pictures banner, “Battalion,” has now been officially unveiled. The film is being produced by Prakash S. Budooru and directed by K.S. Krishna Kumar.
Akash Pictures made its debut with “Mahaan,” starring Karunada Chakravarthy Dr. Shivarajkumar and Chinnari Mutha Vijay Raghavendra. For its second production, the banner collaborated with Darling Krishna. Now, keeping today’s youth in mind, the production house is gearing up for its third ambitious venture, “Battalion.”
The film has brought together a team of talented young technicians, and a few artists have already been selected. Interestingly, one member each from Shetru Battalion and Dolly Battalion has joined the team. To provide opportunities for fresh talent, the makers will soon announce auditions to select the remaining cast.
With the support of the Alliance University School of Film Making and Performing Arts, the film will be shot at several picturesque locations across Karnataka. The makers say they are giving equal importance to technical excellence and entertainment to ensure a quality cinematic experience.
