On Wednesday at Gandhi Bhavan, the book release function of B.K. Srinivasa: An Extraordinary Life Journey’, (Coffee Table) which contains the success story of producer B.K. Srinivas (Benkosri), covering his journey in cinema, business, struggles, and indomitable willpower, was held.
Sri Karivrushabha Deshikendra Shivayogishwara Mahaswamiji of Nonavinakere Kadu Siddeshwara Matha released the book. Former Presidents of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce K.V. Chandrashekhar and Sa.Ra. Govindu, journalist Jogi, Bigg Boss fame Jahnavi, and other dignitaries participated in the function as chief guests.
Welcoming the guests on the stage, Benkosri said, “I come from an extremely poor family. I was born in a hut and studied only up to the 9th standard. I was very passionate about cinema. I lost some of what I earned in that field itself. The Guru of Nonavinakere Kadu Siddeshwara Matha have come here to bless me. I met the Gurus six years ago.” He then unfolded, thread by thread, the path through which I grew in life.
Journalist Jogi, speaking on the occasion, said, “We have watched Benkosri films and written about them. He is not ‘Haalu’Srinivasa, he is ‘All’ Srinivasa. Making good films was his fashion. His achievements are great.”
Sa.Ra. Govindu, while speaking, said, “Srinivas has narrated the path through which he grew in life. I formed ten thousand Rajkumar fans’ associations. Along with Survey, he too had formed fans’ associations. I had gone there as well. Looking at his activities, I had said that Benkosri would grow into a great personality in the future. He made my son a hero for the first time. But the film industry did not support him. Yet, he never expressed his pain anywhere.”
Another guest, Jahnavi, said, Benkosri is an inspiration to all of us. A person who could not study much has made all of us read his life story. His achievement is truly great.”
Finally, the Swamiji delivered his blessings.
