The Kannada film Addiction, produced by Brinda N Jayaram under the banner of SBV Productions, has received a children’s film certificate from the censor board. The film is scheduled for release in June.

The film is based on the issue of mobile phone addiction among children and has been written using real-life incidents as its foundation. Ajay Kumar AJ has written the story, screenplay and dialogues, besides directing the film. It marks his second directorial venture.

The lead role in the film is played by Vidhu Sundarakrishna Aras, grandson of Sundar Krishna Urs and son of Nagendra Aras. The film marks Vidhu Sundarakrishna Aras’ debut in cinema and also introduces the third generation of Sundar Krishna Urs’ family to the film industry.

Raghavendra Rajkumar and Siddu Moolimani, known for Love You Muddu, appear in guest roles in the film. The cast also includes Rishika, known for the television serial Naa Ninna Bidalare, Baby Ankita Gowda, who appeared in Kaatera and the serial Annayya, along with Master Aarush Gunakimath, Shamasundar, Sundar Veena, Harish Rai, Sitara, Tanushree, Anupama Panchakshari and Shailesh.

C R Chandrashekar, head of NIMHANS and a Padma Shri awardee, has played a special role in the film. According to the team, his role carries a social message.

The cinematography for the film has been handled by Gundlupete Suresh, while music has been composed by Dinesh Kumar. The film features six songs written by Rayara Harish and Nelamane Raghavendra. The songs have been sung by Vyasaraj Sosale, Mohammed Saab, Sneha, Anitha Sara Mahesh and Adarsh.

The film team also released the title teaser on the occasion of producer Brinda N Jayaram’s birthday. According to the team, the teaser has received a positive response.
