‘SEPTEMBER 21’ DIRECTED BY 21-YEAR-OLD KAREN

Karen Kshiti Suvarna, a 21-year-old Kannada filmmaker, is directing a Bollywood film titled “September 21”. The film’s story revolves around Alzheimer’s disease and the relationship between a patient and his nurse caretaker. The film’s muhurat ceremony took place recently at the Panchamukhi Ganapati Temple in Mahalakshmi Layout, Bengaluru.

Journalist, actor, and director Indrajit Lankesh gave the inaugural clap to mark the start of filming. Members of the film team and other dignitaries attended the event and later spoke to the media.

Karen Kshiti Suvarna said she had previously directed a short film called “Hide and Seek”, which was recognized internationally. The story of “September 21” is written by P. Rajasekhar in Malayalam. The cast includes Priyanka Upendra, Praveen Kumar Singh Sisodia, and Zarina Wahab. Filming is set to begin soon in Bengaluru.

Actress Priyanka Upendra said she is playing the role of a caretaker named Kamala who looks after a person suffering from Alzheimer’s. She mentioned her familiarity with Hindi due to her father being from Uttar Pradesh. She thanked Indrajit Lankesh for launching the film.

Actor Praveen Singh Sisodia stated he will portray a 60-year-old Alzheimer’s patient struggling with depression and memory loss.

Music director Vinay Chandra, cinematographer Anil Kumar, and other technicians and artists also spoke about the film.

The film is being produced in collaboration with a Belgium-based production company. Amit Awasthi, Vice President of Marketing at Reliance Entertainment, and Frederic De Vos from Fox On Stage are the producers.
