Our land has a rich history of folk arts. While Kantara showcased the coastal region’s Daivaradhane traditions, Rudrabhisheka brings to light the Veeragase art form, deeply rooted in North Karnataka’s culture and dedicated to Lord Veerabhadra. Directed by Vasanth Kumar, the film narrates the journey of a Veeragase-performing family, blending folk traditions with a commercial storyline.

The climax sequence is being filmed at the Sriranganatha Swamy Temple in Chikkaballapur and at a specially erected set in Chikkathadamangala, Devanahalli. Hundreds of Veeragase performers from across Karnataka have gathered for this grand song sequence.

Speaking about the film, director Vasanth Kumar shared “This is the first production from Fan India Creations, and we, a team of nine producers, are working with great enthusiasm to deliver a meaningful film to Kannada cinema. We’ve been shooting continuously for 45 days without any hurdles, and only the four-day climax song shoot remains.

Editing is already 90% complete, and dubbing is ready. This climax song is the film’s biggest highlight, featuring hundreds of Veeragase artists. Our vision is to make this song an anthem for all Veeragase performances. Our lead actor, Vijay Raghavendra, has supported us immensely, working closely with the team as a true collaborator. I also play a dual role as a philosopher, portraying both a father and son in the film. We plan to release the movie in June or July.”

For the first time, Vijay Raghavendra will be seen as a Veeragase performer, playing a dual role as father and son. Bigg Boss fame Priyanka Thimmesh stars as the female lead. The film has been shot in scenic and culturally significant locations, including Devanahalli, Gokarna, Honnavar, Kumta, Abbakka Fort, and the untouched backwaters of Aghanashini, where two songs were filmed.

With a strong folk backdrop, Rudrabhisheka explores the centuries-old history and significance of Veeragase. The story revolves around Lord Veerabhadra—his origins and the reasons for his arrival. Produced under the Fan India Creations banner by Manjunath K.N., Jayaram Reddy, K. Venkatesh, Chidananda Murthy, Suresh Babu, Ashwath Narayan, Shivakumar, and Ravikumar, the film also features Bal Rajavadi as the village head. The music is composed by veteran music director V. Manohar, with cinematography by Mutturaj.
