With just a few days left for 2025, the year-end blockbusters UI and Max have been a roaring success. Now, as the new year begins, expectations are high for KD, a pan-India film directed by Jogi Prem and starring Action Prince Dhruva Sarja. Produced by KVN Productions, the film is shaping up to be a grand spectacle.
The talkie portions of KD are complete, with only two songs left to be shot. On Tuesday, the first song of the movie, the folk-styled “Shiva Shiva,” had its lyrical video launch at Orion Mall. The song features vocals by Prem and Kailash Kher, with regional singers performing the versions in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
Prem’s films are known for their chart-topping music, and KD is no exception. In “Shiva Shiva,” the grandeur of Lord Shiva is brought to life through stunning graphics. The visuals, vibrant making, and gripping tune are sure to captivate audiences.
The launch event was attended by director Prem, lead actor Dhruva Sarja, actress Reeshma Nanaiah, music director Arjun Janya, KVN Productions’ business head Supreet, Anand Audio’s Shyam, choreographer Mohan, and art director Mohan B. Kere, among others.
Prem shared insights about the film, noting that the first song for the new year, “Shiva Shiva,” is inspired by folk songs popular in the 1970s. Ajay Devgn launched the Hindi version, Harish Shankar released the Telugu version, and Lokesh Kanagaraj unveiled the Tamil version. The full song will be released soon and promises to be on another level.
Dhruva Sarja highlighted the extraordinary composition by Prem and Arjun Janya. Producer Supreet emphasized the importance of audio in the film, while music director Arjun Janya revealed the grandeur of the song, featuring a 264-piece orchestra from Europe. Art director Mohan B. Kere described the challenges of recreating the 1970s with massive set designs.
The pan-India film KD also features Bollywood stars Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, and Nora Fatehi, along with Kannada stalwarts like Crazy Star Ravichandran and Ramesh Aravind. Directed by Prem, the film is based on a real-life gangster story from the 1970-75 period. With six colorful songs choreographed by six different choreographers and breathtaking cinematography by William David, KD promises to be a cinematic extravaganza. Releasing in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam, KD is set to hit screens by Ugadi next year.
