“SAKSHATKARA” ON EXISTENCE OF GOD

Five decades ago, doyen director Puttanna Kanagal’s Sakshatkara, starring Dr. Rajkumar, Jamuna, Prithviraj Kapoor won the hearts of audiences. Now, carrying the same title, Dr. S.L.N. Swamy has directed a 30-minute short film. The film is produced by Asthithvam Theatre Foundation, Yelahanka, founded by Swamy, who has made a mark in theatre and television.


A screening of the short film was recently held, attended by Jagadish Gowda, Deepu Gowda, Harish and Chitara Shivakumar as chief guests.


Based in Yelahanka, the capital of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda, Asthithvam Theatre Foundation has completed five decades of work in theatre and television. Sakshatkara is a humble attempt to explore the search for truth within the Sanatana Dharma tradition.


The film explores children’s search for the existence of God and the simple answer they discover through that journey. It also highlights the responsibility of parents to answer children’s questions, while pointing out the mistakes parents sometimes make. The film emphasises society’s responsibility to preserve values and culture, while conveying a message of religious harmony and the importance of following human and life values.
Sakshi Prashanth Naik, Poorvi Mahadevappa Ekkanth, Sannidhi Havaldar and T.M. Supriyashree play the lead roles. Mahadev Yugeyuge appears in a special role, while Dr. Anand Guruji plays a guest role.


Prashanth J. Naik, Mahadevappa Ekkanth, T.M. Prashanth and Gautham Havaldar have produced the film, with cinematography by Vagish Kumar Jadimath.


“Sakshatkara” will be released shortly. Director S.L.N. Swamy also announced plans to organize a short-film festival in Yelahanka later this year with the support of local MLA Vishwanath. The winning short film will receive a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.
