A press conference was organized on Wednesday afternoon (19th August 2026) to provide information about the Karnataka Rathna ‘Dr. Vishnuvardhana Amrutha Mahotsava’ event being organized to mark the 75th birth anniversary year of Dr. Vishnuvardhan.
Speaking on the occasion, Veerakaputra Srinivas said that the ‘Dr. Vishnuvardhana Amrutha Mahotsava’ will be organized on September 27 at the Nandi Link Ground in Nayandahalli, Bengaluru, with the objective of remembering the life, achievements, and immense contribution of legendary Kannada film actor Dr. Vishnuvardhana to the Kannada film industry.
He said that there have been very few instances where the entire film industry has come together to celebrate the personality and achievements of Dr. Vishnuvardhan. In this context, celebrating his 75th birth anniversary year as an Amrutha Mahotsava is an important effort to repeatedly highlight his achievements and introduce them to the next generation, he said.
He informed that more than 25,000 fans from various districts of the state are expected to participate in the event, and artistes, directors, producers, technicians from the Kannada film industry, dignitaries from the literary field, and stalwarts from the music industry will take part in the program.
Various programs showcasing the life and achievements of Dr. Vishnuvardhan have been planned as part of this day-long celebration, and he said that it will be a unique and thrilling experience for the fans.
Later, director Dr. Rajendra Singh Babu said that such programs are extremely necessary to keep the memories of Dr. Vishnuvardhana alive forever. He informed that efforts are being made to bring all the directors, actors, actresses, producers, and technicians who worked with him onto a single platform at this event.
Actor and Vice President of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, Sundar Raj, said that consultations will be held with the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to ensure the active participation of the entire film industry in this program.
On this occasion, the official logo of the ‘Dr. Vishnuvardhana Amrutha Mahotsava’ was unveiled.
