It was not just song release from ‘America America 2’ on 12th of August 2026 at a private hotel in Bengaluru. It was nostalgic friendship and musical journey from “America America” to “America America 2” shared by Nagathihalli Chandrashekar and Mano Murthy.
The much-awaited film “America America 2” is set to release worldwide on September 11. The 1990s super hit “America America”, directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, marked the rise of NRI music director Mano Murthy.
The film remains popular for both its story and evergreen songs such as “Nooru Janmaku”, “Yaava Mohana Murali Kareyitu” and “Hegide Nam Desha”.
Their successful collaboration continued with films including “Amrithadhare”, “Nanna Preethiya Hudugi” and “Maathad Maathad Mallige”, producing memorable songs like “Ne Amrithadhare”, “Kaar Kaar Ellodi Kaar” and “Jhana Jhana Kanchanadalli”. From “America America” to “Olave Jeevana Lekkachara”, Mano Murthy has composed music for six of Nagathihalli’s films. “America America 2” marks their seventh collaboration.
first song, “Run Run”, written by Nagathihalli Chandrashekar and sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya Ghoshal, was unveiled by renowned writer and editor of Kannada Prabha daily Jogi, who wished the film success.
At the event, Nagathihalli and Mano Murthy reminisced about their long friendship and musical journey, making it a unique press gathering.
The release date was also announced. Prashanth, head of Mysore Sandal Soap, revealed that the film will hit screens worldwide on September 11. Actors Prithvi Ambar and Shanvi Srivastava, editor Crazy Minds, journalist Subramanya, Sunayana Suresh and others were present. Nirup Bhandari is another prominent actor of this film.
Produced by Nagathihalli Cine Creations, “America America 2” will release in several parts of the world with Kannada audiences. KVN Productions will distribute the film in Karnataka.
