“Amartha”, starring Srinagar Kitty and Meghana Raj, is produced by Dr. Kanyana Sadashiva Shetty and Guru Hegde under the Pancharangi Films banner, and directed by Guru Hegde and Vinay Preetham.
The film is set for a statewide release on September 18. A recent press meet was held to announce the release date. Veteran actor and Vice President of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, Sundarraj, unveiled the motion poster featuring the release date. Thammanna Shetty also attended the event as the chief guest. Gattimela…song was screened at the film first media briefing.
“I have been working as a film and television actor for two decades. Now, for the first time, I have directed a feature film. Vinay Preetham and I have jointly directed this film. Though I am one of the producers, Dr. Kanyana Sadashiva Shetty stood by me as the main producer. It has been two years since we started this project, and now it is finally ready for release. The Censor Board has awarded the film a U/A certificate, stating that it can be watched by audiences aged 13 and above. The film will release on September 18.
The title ‘Amartha’ refers to a power that is beyond all of us. In life, whenever something happens, we usually attribute it to God’s grace, destiny, or planetary influence. That may be true, but there is a force beyond even those beliefs. That force is ‘Amartha’,” explained producer, director, and actor Guru Hegde, who also thanked the entire team for their support in bringing the film to life.
After directing Madamakki and Naanu, Adu Mattu Saroja, I have now co-directed this film with Guru Hegde. As Guru Hegde mentioned, this is a unique story. Srinagar Kitty and Meghana Raj play the lead roles. The cast also includes Krithi Shetty, Usha Bhandary, Manju Bhashini, Guru Hegde, Thammanna Shetty, and others.
The cinematography is by Guruprashanth Rai. Music has been composed by Shinoy V. Joseph and Pancham Jeeva, while the background score has been provided by Sridhar V. Sambhram, Balaram, and Rakesh Achar. We are confident that this film, which will appeal to audiences, will be before you on September 18,” said director Vinay Preetham.
“This is the first press meet for Amartha. This is the third film in which Meghana Raj and I have acted together. It has a beautiful story that everyone will love. The story revolves around the journey of a boy from childhood. Guru Hegde has written the story, and the screenplay is equally impressive. The film was shot over 48 days across Dakshina Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Mangaluru, and Bengaluru,” said Srinagar Kitty.
“After Bahu Paraak and Buddhivantha 2, Kitty and I have come together once again in this film. Whenever I shared updates about Amartha on social media, everyone kept asking when it would be released. Finally, that moment has arrived. Our film is releasing on September 18. Guru Hegde has produced this film without compromising despite the current challenges. The way Guru Hegde and Vinay Preetham narrated the story was excellent. The story begins with the school life of a group of friends. As life progresses, each of them takes a different path. What happens when they all reunite forms the core of the story. My character’s name is Lakshmi, a girl who has faced many ups and downs in life. The story explores how Kitty’s character stands by her through those struggles,” said actress Meghana Raj.
Actors Krithi Shetty, Ashwa, and music director Pancham Jeeva, among others associated with the film, also spoke about Amartha (with a sub caption ‘Kalaathitha Astitwa’) Kannada film at the media briefing.
