Undoubtedly one of the biggest Kannada films currently under production, Karnata Balam Ajeyam is being mounted on a grand scale. The film introduces Dhyan Yogeeshwar, son of actor, producer, and politician C.P. Yogeeshwar, as its lead hero.
An interaction with the media at Badami Heritage on Sunday evening brought together the film’s artistes and technicians on one stage. More than 25 members of the cast and crew attended the event, reflecting the magnitude of the project.
Earlier in the afternoon, veteran PRO Sri Raghavendra Chitravani Sudheendra Venkatesh introduced the media to producer C.P. Yogeeshwar at a specially erected pandal near Badami Fort. However, the interaction had to be cut short due to heavy rain. The team later reconvened at Badami Heritage, where the artistes and technicians shared their experiences of working on the film.
Lead actor Dhyan Yogeeshwar, who has undergone extensive preparation for his debut, said:
“We have been shooting in Badami for the past 20 days, and I am overwhelmed by the love and affection shown by the people here. I wanted to become an actor from childhood, but my father was initially not in favour of it. Once I grew older and became more confident, he too gained confidence in me. My dream is to establish myself as an actor, and Karnata Balam Ajeyam will be released for the Sankranti festival on January 15.”
Dhyan revealed that he underwent rigorous training before facing the camera for the first time. Even during the ongoing schedule, he begins his day at 4 a.m., follows a disciplined workout routine, and then reports to the shooting location. “I want to earn a good name as an actor. The encouragement I am receiving from everyone is my biggest motivation,” he added.
Cinematographer Shekar Chandru, collaborating with director Naganna for the second time, described the film as one of the biggest projects of his career. “This is a large-scale production. Another cinematographer is working alongside me to meet the demands of the film. Technically, Karnata Balam Ajeyam will be a very strong film,” he said.
For choreographer Bhajarangi Mohan, the title song has been the biggest assignment of his career.”Earlier, I had spent a maximum of five days filming a song. For this title track, we have worked continuously for six days with hundreds of dancers and performers,” he said.
Lead actress Manika Vishwakarma, making her Kannada debut, expressed her excitement about being part of such a prestigious project. “I am fortunate that my Kannada debut is with such a grand film. In the story, my character returns from abroad, leading to an important turn in the narrative. I immediately connected with the warmth of the script and the team,” she said.
Actress Laya, who returns to Kannada cinema after a gap of nearly 20 years, plays the mother of hero Dhyan Yogeeshwar. “I loved the title the moment I heard it. It has a powerful ring to it. My role is emotional and deeply touching. I couldn’t have asked for a better comeback role,” she said.
Popular actress Manasi Sudhir, often regarded as Karnataka’s own ‘Mother India’ for her impactful performances, appealed to audiences to extend their wholehearted support to Karnata Balam Ajeyam.
Writer-director M.S. Ramesh, who has written more than 150 Kannada films, described the film as being built on “four strong pillars.” “Culture and agriculture form the heart of this film. I sincerely thank the entire team, especially Sheela Yogeeshwar, whose constant presence and support have been invaluable to the production,” he said.
Among those present at the media interaction were actors Sampath, Bala Rajwadi, Pavan, Baby Nishita, Rihan Surya—whose powerful dialogue delivery written by H.M. Nayaka impressed the gathering—Kappe Raya, executive producer K.P. Srikanth, Kantharaj of Kanakapura, and several other members of the cast and crew.
The interaction reflected the confidence and enthusiasm of a team determined to deliver one of the most ambitious Kannada films in recent years.
